The Islamist terror group Boko Haram is coming back despite a military crackdown in West Africa. The group has taken advantage of porous borders with Chad, Cameroon, and Niger to start taking control of the area around Lake Chad.
The Islamist group, whose name means “Western Education is sinful,” was founded in 2002 with the goal of establishing an Islamist state in the oil-rich nation. One recent operation bythe group killed 55 people and resulted in the freeing of 100 prisoners.
