Children and Staff Shot Dead at Christian School in Nashville; Police Take Down Killer

Little is known Monday afternoon about the shooting today at an elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee. Young lives tragically were lost. Police say the shooter is Audrey Hale, a 28 year old local woman who reportedly claimed on social media to be male. Hale killed three children and two adults.

Nashville police closed in quickly during the event, and took down the shooter before more were killed.

Officials posted on social media that an active shooter event occurred at Covenant School, Covenant Presbyterian Church, at 33 Burton Hills Drive. “The shooter was engaged by MNPD and is dead,” officials wrote. A student reunification with parents has been set up at Woodmont Baptist Church.
