When C-17’s leave the runway in the dust.
Two C-17 Globemaster III aircraft out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, flew into the Nevada Test and Training Range to support a training exercise for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).
The massive cargo planes, part of the 62nd Airlift Wing, were loaded with troops, all-terrain vehicles, HMMWVs, and HIMARS launchers.
The goal: a fast and efficient drop into the desert for a joint training mission focused on mobility and rapid response. It was a textbook display of how the Air Force moves heavy firepower and personnel — and gets them out, fast.
Many thanks to U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jose Miguel T. Tamondong for the cool vid!
