Sniper Shoots Through Computer Monitor, Kills Suspect in Florida Hostage Standoff

Inside the bank, the suspect was armed with a knife, and claimed to have a bomb. He took hostages. The incident ended when a law enforcement sniper shot through a computer monitor, and killed the suspect.

Newly released footage from the Lee County Sheriff in Florida gives more context behind the fatal standoff inside Bank of America in Fort Myers on February 7th.

In the video below, the Sheriff explains how the incident unfolded, and says that its Special Operations Unit, Hostage Negotiations Team, and Patrol Bureau train regularly so that all options are available when volatile situations like this arise.
