Israeli Forces Launch Precise Attacks on Iranian Military Targets

Israeli forces have launched “precise” attacks on targets in Iran in retaliation for Iranian attacks on Israel earlier this month, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

The announcement comes after several explosions were reported to have rocked the Iranian capital, Tehran, and nearby Karaj City, local media reported.

“In response to months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel—right now the Israel Defense Forces is conducting precise strikes on military targets in Iran,” the IDF announced in the early morning hours of Oct. 26.

“The regime in Iran and its proxies in the region have been relentlessly attacking Israel since October 7th—on seven fronts—including direct attacks from Iranian soil. Like every other sovereign country in the world, the State of Israel has the right and the duty to respond,” the IDF said in an announcement. “Our defensive and offensive capabilities are fully mobilized. We will do whatever necessary to defend the State of Israel and the people of Israel.”

State television and the Fars news agency, which is linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), as well as CNN, reported the explosions in the early hours of October 26.
