“Islamists and antisemites must not feel safe anywhere” – German Interior Minister Nancy Fraser
German authorities raided sites on Thursday in connection with a ban on the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas and the pro-Palestinian group Samidoun.
Germany’s Interior Ministry said the raids took place at 15 properties in four states.
“Islamists and antisemites must not feel safe anywhere,” German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said in a statement. “With the bans on Hamas and Samidoun in Germany, we have sent a clear signal that we will not tolerate any glorification or support of the barbaric terror of Hamas against Israel.”
There are about 450 Hamas members in Germany, and they have engaged in propaganda and fundraising efforts, the ministry said.
A week ago, police launched searches of 54 locations across seven federal states connected to the Islamic Center of Hamburg, which is suspected of supporting the terrorist group Hezbollah.
