An F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet aboard the USS Harry S. Truman blew overboard during heavy weather in the Mediterranean Sea, the Navy confirmed.

All personnel aboard the ship are accounted for. It is not clear whether the aircraft can be recovered, or is lost at sea. The aircraft is the type of plane featured in the “Top Gun: Maverick” film.

The carrier was conducting a replenishment-at-sea, which was safely terminated through established procedures. The July 8 incident occurred amid unexpected weather conditions, the Navy said. The conditions reportedly included intense winds and heavy rain.

One Sailor received minor injuries while conducting operations during the unexpected heavy weather. The Sailor is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.

USS Harry S. Truman and embarked aircraft remain full mission capable.

Details and the cause of the incident are under investigation.
