The Cabot Guns Apocalypse Pistol: A First Look

by Friedrich Seiltgen

Cabot Guns says that its Apocalypse pistol is “crafted from the ground up as a fighting handgun for the enthusiast who is unwilling to compromise. Inspired by a bespoke custom created for one of our clients, the concept was too great not to replicate.” Here’s a first look from Friedrich Seiltgen, who frequently writes for us about guns and gear.

The Frame
The Apocalypse is constructed from 416 stainless steel billet using the Cabot Guns proprietary hardening process. Features include a flat serrated trigger with a 3.5-to-4-pound pull, a rhombus cut front strap checkering at 24 LPI, and rhombus cut checkering on the main spring housing. G-10
Tactile grips come standard.

The controls consist of a standard ambidextrous thumb safety, scalloped slide stop, magazine
release, and beavertail grip safety, all billet constructed. The frame rail is standard; however, you
can order the Apocalypse without a rail if you desire.

The Slide and Barrel
The slide on the Apocalypse is created using a deeply etched Damascus long tongue pattern,
stainless steel that is durable and beautiful. Cabot’s heritage finish brings out the details of the
patterned steel. The finish is unique to each pistol as the patterns are unique. There are 13-degree front and rear cocking serrations, which further highlight the finish and give the shooter grip space for manipulation, and a lowered and flared ejection port.

Sight options include a standard tritium dovetail front sight or a tall, serrated front if you select
red dots. The rear is a Cabot ledge rear sight standard with MRDS mount and Optic optional.
The optics-ready slide lets you co-witness with your iron sights and quickly acquire the target.
Barrel lengths are 4.25-inch or 5-inch match grade, which come in optional hand fit, crown fit,
flush fit, or threaded, with a polished feed ramp. The barrel bushing is billet constructed, and the
apocalypse features a one-piece full-length guide rod.

All these features add up to a better than 1.5” at 25 yards guaranteed accuracy.
